Bowling Information

I called the bowling alley in Elko to find out information.  To reserve the entire 8 lanes it is $500.  They open at 11 and we have to be out by 2.  The guy did say that for special events they will open earlier (maybe around 9 or 10).  The $500 covers shoe and lane rental for that entire time.  There is a pizza place connected, they have wonderful pizza.  I think they serve other things as well.

They can shut the blinds and turn the lights off to do glow in the dark bowling too. AKA Cosmic bowling!!

Do we want to reserve this?
So what the plan would be for the cost would be once we find out how many people will be attending we can divide the cost evenly per person or probably per person bowling? Would that work out?

Campout update! Birthday update!

Friday morning bowling - Friday afternoon/evening BBQ potluck and everyone donate $$ per person for meat, plus bring a side at park and games, or just playing on the toys at the park. *there are horseshoes pits at one park and volleyball net at a different park*
*Little cousins sleepover/campout*
PLACE: Jakes house in Spring Creek
Chaperones: Amanda, Jake, Myself,
*If anyone else wants to chaperone you are welcome!*
As of right now we have two 6 person tents, one boy and one girl tent. We may need one or two more big tents, anyone??

Birthday:
I think that would be wonderful Jess.  Birthdays are the best with family around.  Does anyone else have a birthday close to the reunion dates?  Maybe at the park we can do a big birthday bash for everyone.  Play some kiddy games, cupcakes or cakes, craft, etc...  Would that be ok, Jess?

Change of plans

After hearing feedback from everyone and getting more information on Camp Lamoille we have decided to take a different path for the reunion.  Camp Lamoille is not available over weekends.

The reunion will be based out of Elko. We will do activities in and around Elko.

Thursday morning hike or fishing in Lamoille Canyon.  We can hike to Island lake or Lamoille Lake or for those that prefer to not hike they can stay in the canyon and fish the streams or beaver ponds.  Depending on the dates the lakes could be under snow,  so we will have to play this by ear.
 - Thursday afternoon swimming - Thursday evening dinner somewhere like Basque house or pizza or whatever, everyone pays their own way  *my vote is pizza barn*
Cousins Night out!

Friday morning bowling - Friday afternoon/evening BBQ potluck and everyone donate $$ per person for meat, plus bring a side at park and games, or just playing on the toys at the park. *there are horseshoes pits at one park and volleyball net at a different park*
*Little cousins sleepover/campout*  Need a place for this, any volunteers?

Saturday - Lake( South Fork) all day, everyone can bring their own sandwiches, etc then a potluck dinner or go back to town to a restraunt
*Parents breakfast*

Sunday - breakfast before everyone leaves (possibly at the manor where grandpa is at)...we can either do a potluck breakfast or go out somewhere

These are just some ideas; if anyone has any other ideas or thoughts please share them in the comments below or via email with Amanda or myself.
For dates we are looking at arriving Wednesday June 18th-June 22nd (sunday).  Some people understandably won't be able to make it for the whole time and some people can come longer.  Once we start getting RSVP's we can plan accordingly, as well.
Also, if you do not have a place to stay or would prefer to stay in a hotel please let me or Amanda know and we can block out some rooms at a hotel.  If you live in Elko and have extra rooms or trailers and are willing to open your home to out of towners let me or Amanda know.  We are hoping to keep costs down for everyone, vacations/traveling is expensive as it is.
Any questions or concerns??

Phase I

Dear Family,
Amanda and I are in phase I of planning the reunion.  When starting this we wanted to do our best to involve everyone and try to make it to where everyone can attend.  You may ask why Lamoille?  The answer is simple it is the closest place to Grandma and Grandpa.  What is a reunion without the them?  We know they will not be able to stay overnight and may not make it everyday but they will sure do their best.

As of right now the reunion is planned for July 2014.  Dates are not for sure yet.  We are waiting to hear back from Camp Lamoille to see what dates are available.  We feel Camp Lamoille is the best option for all of us.  It has A Frame cabins, basically all it is is a building, no cots, no beds.. So if you want to stay in one of these you will need to bring your sleeping bag, etc... There are places to pitch a tent, and park your trailer, no hook ups though.  It has running water, flush toilets, and showers.  Also there is a mess hall aka dining hall with a fully equipped kitchen perfect for our family meal gatherings if we so choose.  There are trails to hike, streams/rivers to fish, and the lakes are within hiking distance.  I have been told ATVs are allowed on the trails but I am making sure on that one... so don't quote me on that yet.  The facility also has one large fire pit for some campfire fun.  there are places for horseshoes and volleyball; we just have to bring the equipment.
For those that choose not to camp I am looking into Bed and Breakfast and hotel in Lamoille, but I am not sure if they are still open so the best place would be Elko.  Should we choose one hotel and block out a set of rooms or would you prefer to choose your own?
If Camp Lamoille is unavailable we will camp in Thomas Campground.
If you have any other question please contact me at kwgmdg@gmail.com or Amanda at absilverhorn@frontiernet.net

Thank you to those that took the quiz!  It was fun to read the responses.  I forgot to put a place for your name, I assumed the survey would have you put that in there... So if you could let me know somehow what your responses were that would be great.  : ).

In the survey I asked about dinners, breakfast.  I think what we will plan as of right now is each family will do a meal (depending on how many can attend of course)  For example:
Uncle Mikes family will do a meal (Katie, Kim, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Mike), My Dads family (Me, Marcus, Marie,Ashley, Mercy, Mom, Dad) Geez Dad...you will probably get to sit back and dictate, no wonder you have so many children ;) , etc... Make sense?

For activities, we haven't completely figured all this out yet. So stay tuned.

Also, Amanda has set up a facebook account on the reunion where she will post updates too.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you,
Michelle
